Do any of you know that moment when a name becomes a person

That moment when you meet somebody for the first time after hearing so much about them
You think you know who they are just by how you’ve heard them described over and over again

But then you meet them face to face and it’s like a brick wall meeting wooden fence, they are so much more complex than you ever imagined and yet you in comparison are so shallow

You feel as if they could see right through you where all you can see is their exterior
That moment when a name becomes a face, when all you can think about when you hear that name is the moments you had with the face that name is tagged to

It makes you want to forget that face and go back to when that name was just a name and nothing more

Those days when a name was a personality you never got to meet, when a name was just a collection of letters colliding into an order to make something recognizable as a word

A name that had a dictionary definition for what they were supposed to be like that turned out to be the exact opposite of the name you got to meet.

Names are much more complex than we ever thought they could be, they pull us around in every direction until we break

Names hold too much power, especially in those moments when you meet two different people with the same name or somebody else with your name.

It makes you feel like your mind is being split and torn into pieces and it feels like you’re being shocked in every place imaginable at the exact same time

Names are much more than labels to tell people apart, they are the things which tear us apart until the day of our death, the things which become so numerous to remember that we eventually forget them

And when they fade into the background and all that’s left is who you are, who they are. It becomes like a trance wherein nobody is everybody and everybody is somebody.
